Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death late Thursday night in Delhi’s Seelampur area, triggering major unrest. The incident, allegedly stemming from old enmity, has sparked protests from locals demanding "justice through Yogi Adityanath model," as concerns over community safety intensified.
Police have confirmed that the accused were known to the victim and belonged to another community. CCTV footage is under review to identify the attackers, and authorities are investigating whether the suspects are minors or adults. A case of murder has been registered at Seelampur police station, with multiple teams deployed to track down the culprits.
Following the murder, residents flooded the streets with posters outside their homes reading slogans like "Hindu Exodus," "This House is for Sale," and appeals to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for intervention. Some posters also demanded bulldozer action in the area, a reference to swift justice often associated with the Uttar Pradesh administration.
The victim’s father, Rajbir Singh, an auto-rickshaw driver, alleged he witnessed 4-5 boys attack his son, who had stepped out to buy milk. He named individuals including Sahil and mentioned a girl, Zikra, who was reportedly nearby. Zikra, known locally as "Lady Don" through her social media presence, was questioned by police but later released as no direct involvement was found in the case so far.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta responded quickly, assuring the family and the public that "no stone will be left unturned" to ensure justice. She confirmed discussions with the Police Commissioner and emphasized that the investigation is progressing actively, with police working towards swift arrests.
Given the sensitivity of the situation, paramilitary forces have been deployed in Seelampur to maintain law and order. Authorities are closely monitoring the locality as protests continue, highlighting the fragile communal balance and rising concerns over public safety.
